System Specification

Systems engineering is an inter-disciplinary approach and means to enable the realisation of successful systems.

Systems Engineering:·

  • directs the design, development, synthesis and creation of a system;
  • involves a "holistic view" i.e. the design of the whole as distinguished from the design of the parts;
  • comprises a technical part and a managerial part; namely, it requires making technical decisions and trade-offs while controlling and managing the efforts of different experts and teams.

Bellwether has experience of full lifecycle development of safety critical systems to CENELEC and IEC standards.

We have worked on many projects defining the functionality, architecture, safety, performance and RAM (Reliability, Availability and Maintainability) of the operational systems. Much of our work includes the defining and analysis of the human processes and how they combine with the product to fulfil system functionality.

The experience we have gained in this field gives us the potential to re-design and optimise transport and traffic management operations, creating efficiencies through the optimal use of available resource during times of perturbation.
